The Debian Project is an association of individuals with the common cause of creating a free operating system called Debian. It started as a small, tightly-knit group of Free Software hackers and gradually became a large, well-organized community of developers and users. Debian DNSSEC partners with SafeNet Luna SA Hardware Security Module (HSM) to provide a valuable key management solution for protecting DNSSEC private keys.
Debian Systems use the Linux or FreeBSD kernel. Debian comes with over 37,500 packages of precompiled software that is bundled up in a format that’s easily installed on machines, along with a package manager and other utilities, all of which are free. The Debian Project has partnered up with SafeNet Luna SA for a secure key management solution. The Debian Platform can run DNSSEC, a suite of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) specifications designed to secure certain kinds of DNS information. Debian Systems partners with SafeNet Luna SA to ensure DNS signing keys are kept secure.

DNSSEC is a suite of Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) specifications designed to
secure certain kinds of DNS information. It’s essential that private DNSSEC
keys are kept secure. If the private key were to be compromised, a rogue DNS
server could gain access. To prevent such a compromise, SafeNet’s Luna SA
hardware security module (HSM) protects
the generation and storing of private keys. In addition, SafeNet Luna SA
supports key rollover functions since DNSSEC keys don’t have permanent
