2018 has become a landmark year for the implementation of new data protection regulations. However becoming compliant and remaining compliant is challenging for companies. Who can they turn to?

It's not just internal policies that organizations are abiding by, over nine in ten (92%) ITDM respondents' organizations comply with at least one regulation. It is over half (55%) who report that their organization adheres to the GDPR, while slightly fewer adhere to ISO 27001/2 (49%) and/or ICO Audit (34%).

Worryingly, around four in five (82%) surveyed ITDMs state that their organization finds it difficult to remain compliant with the data regulations that it must abide by.

Organizations must ensure that they do abide in order to keep their customers happy; nine in ten (90%) consumer respondents state that it is important for organizations to comply with security regulations when it comes to securing their data.

Organizations are likely to seek help in their journey to GDPR compliance. Nine in ten (90%) surveyed ITDMs report that their organization has/will turn to another organization in order to be GDPR compliant, with consultancy firms (53%) and/or business partners (43%) being the most likely.

This could be because the majority (79%) of ITDM respondents state that their organization has faced challenges in addressing the GDPR, with the deadline (37%) and/or not being a senior executive priority (29%) being the most common.
